An area belongs to one area category. But an area category is not typed, since an area category is just an area group name. Areas of an area category share the same business interest (tariff for visitors, validity for visitors, tariff for residents, …)
The ticket sales Application can get the list of the park areas (with name with translations, link to area category) using GET /areas request.
By default, to avoid too much data transfer, the geographical definition of the areas is not returned.
To get it in the response, add the query string: "?modifier[]=include-geometry"
