Free time is free parking time that is offered to the end-user in a period.
In a park, the free time policy can be different depending on the parking audiences, the areas, and/or the time and day.
It is also possible to configure to use the whole free time credit at once or in many steps, by mixing free time and paid time. These options may exclude each other allowing only free time or paid time.
Important: Free time is only returned when requested |
Remaining free time is gained from the parkingRights response.
•GET /parkingRights
Free time policy rules and already used free time credits consumed during earlier parking sessions are returned in parkingOffers and are taken into account into the returned result when StreetSmart is requested for computed offers:
•GET /parkingOffers
Note that: • Free time is always consumed at the beginning of a parking ticket. • If an end-user stops their ticket before its end, any non-consumed free time of the ticket is lost. |
Example:
•In the down-town area, visitors can have 20 minutes of free time between 8:00 and 12:00, and 30 minutes between 14:00 and 19:00, from Monday to Friday
•In the morning, they must use up the whole free time credit before being able to pay for additional time
•In the afternoon, they can consume their free time credit only in steps of 10 minutes
