LicenseKeyMediumPost Payment only works with credit cards and fleet cards because you pay when you leave for the time you parked.

An authorisation (also called reservation) for a pre-defined amount of money is made during check-in.  If the time available for the reserved amount has expired, an additional authorisation (re-authorisation) will be made. This will continue until checkout or until the auto check-out amount is reached.

Re-authorization will be done when the current reserved amount has been used. When this is done depends on the tariff package used.

The service that triggers the re-authorization will do this on the first run of the service after current end-time of the authorization. There may be a delay between the exeact end time and the time the service runs. If this is the case the service will add an additional amount to cover these additional minutes.

Example

1.A customer checks in at 08.00, authorization is done for 30 SEK.

2.The re-authorisation amount defined in the Post-Payment profile is used for calculating when the next re-authorisation shall be done, in this case this will be after 3 Hours since the tariff is 10 SEK per hour and the re-authorisation amount is 30 SEK.

3.At 11.00, the worker that fetches all transactions for re-authorisation, is started (starts every 10 minutes or so). Exactly when the re-authorisation for a specific transaction is done is therefore hard to say. In this example, we will assume that the transaction in step 1 is re-authorised at 11.06.

4.A re-authorisation is performed with the re-authorisation amount of 30 SEK + the cost for 6 minutes. In this case the cost per minute according to the tariff is 0,167, so 6*0,167 = 1 SEK. So total re-authorisation amount is 31 SEK.

Check-out can be done either by the user checking out on a terminal or a system check-out on pre-defined times.

Limitation:
Currently 3C cannot handle more than 99 re-authorisations.  If you are setting up a Post Payment network for a long-time parking area, set the re-authorisation values on a level that should limit the number of re-authorisations.
