Most of the printer settings require that you perform a black mark calibration after you have made any changes via the service menu (or via WebOffice). Therefore, make it a rule to calibrate as described below after you have changed any printer setting.
When using paper without black mark, you still have to perform a black mark calibration because the out of paper sensor is calibrated as well when a black mark calibration is done.
Operational changes in printer firmware 4.1
•An automatic blackmark calibration has been implemented (see below for description).
•Printing a test page is now done by holding the feed button for three seconds.
•A short press on the feed button advances the paper to the next blackmark.
Automatic black mark calibration (only with firmware 4.1):
1.Allow the meter to boot in service mode (door open), bottom door closed.
2.Lift the printer head and remove the paper, then close the printer head. The status light shall now be flashing.
3.Insert the paper into the printer (with the printer head closed) and it will automatically perform a blackmark calibration.
Manual black mark calibration (both with firmware 3.82 and 4.1):
4.Allow the meter to boot in service mode (door open), bottom door closed.
5.Open the printer head. Note if paper is in already, pull it back to where it just started, before the the first sensor in the metal guid to get it ready for calibration feed.
6.With the printer head open, push and hold the Feed button for 5 seconds.
7.While still holding the Feed button close the printer head.
8.When the status light goes off, release the Feed button.
9.Insert the paper. The printer performs a calibration and stops. If the status light is on with a solid light, not flashing after the calibration, the calibration was successful.
10.Open the printer head, remove the paper, then close the printer head and insert the paper in to the printer. The printer is now ready to use. Put a magnet on the door switch, the printer will advance and cut, and then it will print the normal information ticket. Remove the magnet and close the door.
