The application software is designed to present one display panel at a time controlled by a number of variables. There are two major groups of display panels in the system:
•Selection display panels
•Payment display panels
A purchase at a terminal consists of two parts:
1.The first group of display panels contains the panels for selection of Payment services, Articles and Tariff packages, which is usually referred to as PAT selection. The panels used for the PAT selection are always the same in the system, while the panels used for the payment part depends on what is selected in the PAT selection part.
Selection, by the customer or the system, always takes place before the payment part.
•When the system is set up with multiple payment services, articles or tariff packages, and allows selection between them, these three panels will be presented to the customer.
•If the system is configured so that it does not require any selection (1 payment service, 1 article and 1 tariff package) the selection will take place automatically in the software and the selection panels will not be used at all.
2.The second group of display panels contains the panels displayed during the payment process of a purchase, that is, while the customer pays for one or several items to be purchased.
As soon as payment is started the selected payment service, article and tariff package will be locked and cannot be changed unless the purchase is rejected and started over. This means that the panels for selection are only used until payment is started. Then the payment panels will be used until the purchase is completed or rejected.
Next to the above mentioned panels the system can display additional panels to retrieve or display additional information like the Code Input panel to get e.g. a license plate or other code used in the purchase. Another set of panels is the Personal Account panels used for residential parking.
A complete list of all available panels can be found in the appendix Panel names
