ePurse card validation rules are set up by Flowbird Support and are needed for a terminal to be able to process the ePurse cards.
Flowbird Support will commonly use the first six digits to create a Card Prefix and set the necessary validation rules for this prefix. This prefix well then be sent to each terminal that shall accept these cards.
Next to this, you can use a Card Security Code.
You can use the expiration date and/or the service code for the security code validation as follows.
•Card PAN: 2500 0100 0000 0501.
•Valid to: 2201.
•Service Code: 494.
To create a security code for the card above you can:
•Use the Valid to portion of track 2 (four digits) in the format YYMM.
Example; 2201.
•Use the Service code. This is commonly a code of three digits printed on the card.
Example 494.
•Use the Valid To + Service code combination in this order.
Example 2201494.
